We were in our garden the other day, trying to figure out which plants needed to be harvested and which ones could wait another day. That’s when we thought that taking care of a garden is just like managing everything else in life.
When you start gardening, you want to grow everything. Tomatoes, peppers, melons, flowers, herbs, you name it. But here’s the thing: you only have so much time, space, and energy. Some plants need attention every day. Others are more resilient and can handle being tended to less frequently. The trick is knowing which is which.
Work is exactly the same way. We all have work that requires constant attention and care. Then there are other tasks that can sit on the back burner for a while without causing issues.
Let’s be real, most of us aren’t just dealing with work. We’re also parents, we’re keeping our homes running, daily chores, maybe making videos or writing blogs, and yes, some of us are actually growing gardens too. It’s a lot.

We have been creating content for five years now. We’ve poured our hearts into it, worked with dedication, and honestly? It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. But there were times when we were so focused on the work that we forgot why we started in the first place, because we loved it!
Here’s what we learned the hard way: if you don’t make time for fun, it just doesn’t happen. Life will fill up every minute with work, chores, and responsibilities if you let it.
Now we actually put fun on our calendar. Movie night with the family. A walk around the neighbourhood. Even just sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee. These little breaks aren’t wasted time, they’re what keep us going.

We’re still figuring it out. Some days we nail the balance, we get good work done, spend time with family, and even squeeze in some gardening. Other days, everything feels like a full plate.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s finding a rhythm that works for you and your family. Maybe that means saying no to some opportunities so you have time for things that really matter. Maybe it means asking for help when you need it. Maybe it means accepting that some days, keeping everyone fed and happy is achievement enough.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by everything on your plate, you’re not alone. Whether you’re managing a garden, a business, a family, or all of the above, it’s normal to feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day.
But here’s the thing, you don’t have to do it all perfectly. You just have to do it with love. The same care you put into watering your plants can go into every part of your life, even the messy, imperfect parts.
We’re still on this journey, still learning as we go. But through it all, we’ve tried to remember why we started, because we love sharing our story with people like you. That’s what makes it all worth it! Very grateful! 🙏
